Hip! Hip! Huzzah! The Fort is open 100% capacity.
Dear Fort Patrons,
Due to an increase in breakout COVID-19 cases, as well as being in the flu and cold season, we highly recommend you be vaccinated and wear a mask when entering The Fort.
Additionally, please wear a mask as you go through public places within the restaurant. It’s very important that we all take precautions to make for a safe and healthy holiday season. Rest assured that over 90% of the Fort employees are fully vaccinated, and are being asked to wear a mask too, for everyone’s health and safety during this holiday season.
Thank you so much for your consideration. ENJOY THE HOLIDAYS!

The Fort Restaurant
This Denver Western Restaurant Is
The Essence of Colorado – In Red Rocks Country!
Hip! Hip! Huzzah!
The Fort is located just Southwest Denver, just 2 miles south of Morrison, Colorado, in “Red Rocks” Country. It’s a beautiful drive into our foothills, just off Highway 285 and Highway 8. It’s only a 10-25 minute drive from most neighborhoods in and surrounding Denver. Take a family drive into the foothills and pick up your delicious dinner and drinks at The Fort, at bargain prices!
The Fort is a full scale adobe replica of a famous 19th century fur trading fort. Our menu is inspired by the Trappers, traders and American Indian recipes of that era, and we’re known as “New Foods of the Old West”. The Fort sells more buffalo entrees than any other independent restaurant, and is known for our game meats, seafood, vegetarian options, and home made desserts. The Fort has an extensive wine selection and has earned the Wine Spectator Award each year for over ten years. Our TAKE OUT MENU also includes selections of wines and libations.
One of America’s Most Scenic Restaurants!
The Fort has been featured in local and national publications such as the New York Times, Sunset, Bon Appetit, Modern Maturity, 5280 Magazine, Plate Magazine, Rocky Mountain News and Westword. In February 2008 The Fort was featured on the Today Show with Al Roker.
The Fort has won the Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence for the 7th consecutive year.
