A Colorado Tradition: National Western Stock Show

For the past 112 years, people have anxiously awaited the arrival of the annual National Western Stock Show. One of Colorado’s most popular tourist attractions, the show is the nation’s premier livestock, rodeo and horse show. Held each January for 16 days, the event features one of the world’s richest professional rodeos, one of the country’s largest horse shows and Colorado’s largest western trade show. Cheers to National Rum Punch Day

Sept. 20 is National Rum Punch Day, and we’re celebrating with one of Sam’l Arnold’s favorite drinks, our 1732 Philadelphia Fish House Punch!

 

Philadelphia Fish House Punch is thought to be one of the oldest punch recipes served in America. Scholars believe the recipe originated in the 1600s, in London, as a farmers’ club punch, and was later served in America at the Fish House Tavern in Schuylkill, Pa.

Recipe: Thanksgiving Turkey with Piñon-Nut Stuffing

If you’re hosting Thanksgiving this year, consider making our celebrated stuffing to accompany your turkey. This stuffing has been around since the 1960s, at which time we smoked whole birds outside of The Fort in a large smokehouse.
