their Old World alter egos, such as Red Burgundy, Pinot Grigio or a Vin d' Alsace,
these diverse, though related wines have achieved well-deserved recognition.
For example, many Champagnes are blends of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. "Pinots", red and white, admirably bridge the gap between the New and Old Worlds and have been successful in both. Everyone is talking about "Pinot" these days.
