NON-TRADITIONAL SOUTHWEST ARTWORK FOR A COLORADO CULINARY LEGEND
Morrison, CO –On Sunday, August 20th, The Golden Hotel and Rotors of The Rockies will be dedicating a 8’ tall quartet of steel cacti to honor The Fort restaurant founder, Dr. Sam’l P. Arnold. The sculpture, developed by artist Eric Carroll and the Desert Steel Company, will be set directly next to the helicopter landing pad up at The Fort and will feature a 7’ tall Saguaro cactus, two 2’ tall fishhook cacti and a 13” barrel cactus done in galvanized steel.
Please join us for the dedication of this unique artistic sculpture at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 20th, where we will be unveiling the final installation of Eric’s cactus project. This dedication is open to the public. Taking over 85 hours to complete, every cactus starts as a flat sheet of steel which is then hand folded and custom welded to create a special piece for the owner to enjoy.
Dr. Sam’l P. Arnold passed away on June 8, 2006. The Fort restaurant traditions will be continued on by his daughter, Holly Arnold Kinney. The Fort is located just 22 minutes southwest of downtown Denver on Highway 8, just north of the Highway 285 intersection. Reservations are strongly encouraged. For more information or to make reservations, call The Fort at 303-697-4771 or book online at www.thefort.com.
